Schools

Schools within Northport city limits are part of the Tuscaloosa County School System.  There are 10 total schools within the city.

  • Elementary:  Crestmont Elementary, Faucett-Vestavia Elementary, Flatwoods Elementary, Matthews Elementary, Northport Elementary School
  • Middle School: Collins-Riverside Middle School, Echols Middle School, Northport Intermediate School
  • High School: Tuscaloosa County High School
  • Regional Education Center:  Sprayberry Education Center

  • Focus 50+ is a social service agency for Tuscaloosa county adults aged 50 and up. 
  • Tuscaloosa Public Library – The library offers a full range of library services, classes and programs. 
  • Tuscaloosa County Parks & Recreation Authority  – TCPARA manages a variety of parks, centers and green spaces including the Van de Graaff Park & Arboretum, Mason’s Place All Inclusive Playground and the Northport Community Center.
  • Warrior Baseball – A 13-15 League with an approximate 10 game season consisting of weeknight games.
  • Northwood Lake – Non-residents may pay a Basic assessment for use of common outdoor areas or a Recreation assessment for facilities use.

  • Older Adults - ASSISTEDLIVING.ORG is a source for guides, resources and local assisted living facilities and SENIORHOUSEINGNET.COM provides an emergency housing guide to assist seniors faced with homelessness.
  • Friends of Historic Northport – Organization that promotes the history and heritage of Northport through education, preservation, planning, and documentation.

  • Tuscaloosa County Health Department – The health department offers WIC, environmental, home care and clinical services to the public. 
  • Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter – The shelter supports Tuscaloosa City, Tuscaloosa County and City of Northport animal control agencies.
  • Tuscaloosa’s One Place – A family resource center providing connection with programs and services. 
  • West Alabama Chamber of Commerce  – The chamber focuses on economic and community development and well-being.
  • West Alabama Regional Commission – One of 12 regional councils in Alabama, serving Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens and Tuscaloosa counties.   WARC provides project coordination and services for local governments and citizens.
