Schools within Northport city limits are part of the Tuscaloosa County School System. There are 10 total schools within the city.
- Elementary: Crestmont Elementary, Faucett-Vestavia Elementary, Flatwoods Elementary, Matthews Elementary, Northport Elementary School
- Middle School: Collins-Riverside Middle School, Echols Middle School, Northport Intermediate School

- Focus 50+ is a social service agency for Tuscaloosa county adults aged 50 and up.
- Tuscaloosa Public Library – The library offers a full range of library services, classes and programs.
- Tuscaloosa County Parks & Recreation Authority – TCPARA manages a variety of parks, centers and green spaces including the Van de Graaff Park & Arboretum, Mason’s Place All Inclusive Playground and the Northport Community Center.
- Warrior Baseball – A 13-15 League with an approximate 10 game season consisting of weeknight games.
